The first collection, THE CITY STANDS STILL, showcases scarves and accessories. Inspiration came from the city in mid winter: gnarly twigs and bare branches, gridlines highlighted in the pavement after a rainfall, a girl and a boy, wandering the streets, wrapped up against the chill with a whimsical take on glamour.
Italian spun Australian Merino wool sits alongside vintage French fabric, leather and subtle flashes of metal. The palette is of the city and of the earth, punctuated with splashes of colour.
Several pieces are unisex and multifunctional; scarves can be manipulated into different shapes for varied looks, and bows, hand stitched and bound with leather, can be taken off and worn with other outfits. The end use/s of each piece is an important aspect of the design and the wearer is encouraged to wear the work in their own way rather than be dictated to.
This collection will be available online from October (for the Northern hemisphere) and in Australian boutiques from the end of February.
